NEW MEXICO’S TOP TWO FEMALE OFFICIALS WILL SPEAK IN FAVOR OF THE MARCH AND A WOMAN’S RIGHT TO CHOOSE
What: Red or Green? It’s Your Choice. Lt. Governor Diane Denish, Attorney General Patricia Madrid, First Lady Barbara Richardson, and Sen. Richard Romero will hand out red or green burritos and encourage more women to sign on to the long list of New Mexicans already going to the March on DC April 25th to support a woman’s right to choose. When: Tuesday April 6th 2004 from 10:00am to 11:00am; PRESS STATEMENTS at 10:15 a.m. Where: University of New Mexico, outside front of bookstore (closest intersection Central & Cornell) NARAL Pro-Choice New Mexico and the New Mexico March Coalition will be joined by Lt. Governor Diane Denish, Attorney General Patricia Madrid, First Lady Barbara Richardson, and Sen. Richard Romero to announce a delegation of hundreds of New Mexicans to go to the March to Save Women’s Lives in Washington DC on April 25, 2004. The time is right for a public demonstration of historic size in support of reproductive freedom and justice for all women. Threats to these rights have never been so systematic and coordinated, and the lives and health of women have never faced such peril. On April 25th, in our Nation’s Capitol New Mexicans will march to uphold – Choice, Justice, Access, Health, Abortion, and Family Planning.
“I am leading the New Mexico delegation to Washington, D.C., to be sure our voices are heard and choice is protected, and I encourage more women, men and families to join us,” Denish said.
