Albuquerque, NM – NARAL New Mexico Choice PAC, the political action committee for NARAL Pro-Choice New Mexico, and the leading statewide advocate for personal privacy and a woman’s right to choose, today announced the victories of their endorsed candidates in the state legislative primary election.

Victorious endorsed candidates:

Senate District 10 John Hooker (D)
Senate District 12 Jerry Ortiz y Pino (D)
Senate District 25 John Grubesic (D)*
Senate District 25 Richard Lass (G)

Congressional District 1 Richard Romero (D) Endorsed by NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC

NARAL Pro-Choice New Mexico Executive Director, Giovanna Rossi, said: "We are sending the message loud and clear that our state representatives must uphold the pro-choice values of freedom and privacy in order to be elected in New Mexico."

"This is a great indicator for November," Rossi added.

Pro-choice New Mexicans celebrated a big win as Richard Romero triumphed in the democratic primary for the first congressional district. NARAL Pro-Choice America and NARAL Pro-Choice New Mexico were an integral part of this victory.

Rossi said, "Richard Romero believes women, not government or politicians, have the right to decide issues of pregnancy and childbearing. We are proud to have played a part in his successful election effort."

The organization – which has a targeted list of more than 10,000 pro-choice voters across the state -- focused it’s efforts on the above legislative districts during the primary campaign season.
