The NM Reproductive Health Access Project seeks to increase access to the full range of reproductive health services for all women by directly addressing barriers to abortion and contraceptive services. -
The purpose of this project is to increase access to the full range of reproductive health services for all women by directly addressing barriers to abortion and contraceptive services. In New Mexico, race, class, and geography impose barriers to standards for reproductive health. The three primary goals of the NMRHAP include: creating an accurate assessment of access to reproductive health services in New Mexico, educating the public regarding the full range of reproductive choices, and mobilizing our communities towards positive change for reproductive choice.

Responsible Sex Education Works! -
Responsible sex education works. It teaches not only abstinence and resistance skills, but also provides teens with information about contraceptives and STD/HIV prevention so they can make responsible decisions if and when they become sexually active. Abstinence-only education, promoted by anti-choice activists and legislators, often fails to provide information regarding pregnancy prevention and STD/HIV prevention beyond simply urging teenagers to abstain from sexual activity. In short, it fails to provide teens with the information they need to responsibly protect their health and well-being.
